Constantinos is an enthusiastic and dedicated practitioner of Iyengar yoga since 1992.
In 1996 he went to France where he obtained his certification as a clinical psychologist from the University of Picardie. At this time he studied extensively psychoanalysis both in the freudian and lacanian vein and became interested in the possible role of the immune system as an interface between body and mind. Suffering himself from a chronic autoimmune disease, he was fascinated by the ways a human body would inscribe itself within a spectrum of health and disease, ranging from the suffering body to the plasticity and lightness of the energy body.
In 1999 he went to London where he studied yoga for 3 years in South London Iyengar Yoga Institute. In 2002, at the end of this training, he gained his Iyengar teaching certification and became a member of the UK association.
While in the UK, he continued his study of psychoanalysis on a post graduate level. After his return to Greece in 2003 he opened the first official Iyengar Yoga Centre in Athens. The first teacher training in the country took place there and was conducted by Penny Chaplin, one of the most senior teachers of Iyengar Yoga in Europe. Contantinos’ years of apprenticeship by her side were invaluable as to the refinement of the art.
He is a student of Martine Le Scenic since 2002, in the teaching of whom he found a synthesis of the different areas of his concern.
His teaching is alignment based and makes clear the biomechanics of asanas and pranayamas in a very precise way. He believes that the study of the body, nature and breath gives one the opportunity to understand the mind.
