The Art of Touch 20hr Hands-On Adjustments Teacher Training with Gemma Vassallo

The Art of Touch - 20hr Hands-On Adjustments Teacher Training in Brussels

There is a moment in a yoga class when something shifts.

A student softens.
A breath deepens.
A posture suddenly makes sense in their body.

When done well, hands-on work transforms your teaching.
Students feel seen. Supported. Guided.
And you feel steady in your role.

In Brussels, teachers are highly trained and studios are competitive. What differentiates you is not just choreography — it is the quality of presence and touch.

Skilful adjustments :

  • Increase student retention

  • Deepen trust

  • Create a premium experience

  • Help your students significantly improve their practice and gain trust in their bodies

This 20-hour immersive training gives you practical tools that immediately upgrade your teaching.

It is practical, embodied, and deeply experiential.

You will not just learn where to place your hands.
You will understand whywhen, and how much.

Who This Training Is For

  • Qualified yoga teachers (200h+) teaching Vinyasa or dynamic flow

  • Teachers who feel hesitant about hands-on assists

  • Teachers who adjust occasionally but want more structure and clarity

  • Teachers who want their classes to feel more professional, grounded and impactful

What We Will Cover (20 Hours)

This training follows the natural arc of a Vinyasa class.

Sun Salutations

  • Assisting in motion without disrupting flow

  • Supporting alignment and helping students access more depth safely

  • Learning to move with the student, not against them

Standing Poses & Balances

  • Grounding through the feet and legs

  • Assisting standing balances with stability and confidence

  • Pelvic positioning and spinal integrity

  • Stabilising without overpowering or destabilising the pose

Twists

  • Safe spinal rotations

  • Understanding direction of force

  • Working with breath and resistance

Backbends

  • Supporting spinal extension safely

  • Assisting without over compressing the lumbar spine

  • Encouraging openness through stability and breath

Arm Balances & Inversions

  • Spotting techniques

  • Building trust and safety

  • When to assist — and when not to

Floor Poses (Hips & Forward Folds)

Here we will also explore the difference between adjusting in:

  • Dynamic Vinyasa contexts

  • Longer-held, Yin-style shapes

You will learn how pressure, duration and intention shift depending on the style.

Savasana

  • Simple, effective massage techniques

  • Head, shoulders and grounding touch variations

  • Creating an unforgettable relaxation experience to close your class

What Makes This Training Different

This is not a theoretical weekend.

You will spend the majority of the 20 hours practising — giving and receiving adjustments repeatedly, with supervision and detailed, personalised feedback.

You will learn:

  • How to apply appropriate pressure (and how to read when it is too much)

  • How to use your body mechanics so you don’t exhaust yourself

  • How to adjust confidently during flow transitions

  • How to work with consent clearly and professionally

  • How to adapt adjustments for different bodies

You will leave having practised dozens — not just watched demonstrations.

Outcomes

By the end of the training, you will :

Feel comfortable offering hands-on adjustments in your classes
Understand pressure, leverage and direction of force
Adjust safely in dynamic sequences
Refine your eye for alignment
Elevate the student experience
Teach with greater authority and embodied confidence

Touch in yoga is not about “fixing” bodies.
It is about communication.

Clear. Respectful. Intelligent.

If you are ready to move beyond hesitation and step into confident, refined assisting — this training is for you.
