Functional Anatomy, Flexibility & Pain-Informed Teaching
This advanced training is designed for qualified Yin Yoga teachers who want to refine and elevate the way they teach.
Over 2.5 immersive days, we will explore Yin through a functional and evidence-informed lens, integrating anatomy, flexibility science and pain-informed teaching into a clear and adaptable framework.
This is not a foundational Yin Yoga training. It is an advanced refinement of how you analyse and teach long-held postures.
What We Will Explore
Functional Anatomy & Archetypes
Recognising Yin postures as functional archetypes rather than fixed shapes
Understanding the skeletal and muscular framework underlying long-held poses
Working with structural variation across different bodies
Flexibility, Range of Motion, Mobility & Hypermobility
Understanding what flexibility really is — and what it isn’t
Refining your understanding of range of motion, mechanical stiffness, stretch tolerance and mobility
Exploring the role of intensity in long-held postures
Understanding the hypermobility spectrum and its implications for Yin practice
Supporting joint integrity through stability-focused teaching and intelligent range management
Pain-Informed Teaching
Understanding pain as a complex and individual experience
Expanding teaching language, cueing and expectations to better address student experiences
Teaching long holds with clarity and responsibility
